The Structural Engineers Association of Davao, Inc. (SEAD)Visayas Chapter (Chapter No. 002) is a professional organization of structural engineers serving the Visayas. Founded on its Vision and Mission, the chapter is dedicated to the advancement of its members through a continuing professional development program and to making significant contributions to the community using the knowledge and skills gained therein.

New Applicant — Associate or Special Entrant to Regular
DOC #1Submit a Membership Application Form of your choice, or use the SEAD Application Template.
DOC #2Fill out the Membership Profile form (with 2 pcs — 2"×2" or passport-size colored ID pictures) indicating basic personal information, professional identification, educational information, professional work experiences, and seminar or training attendance (begin with the recent engagement).
DOC #3APhotocopies of updated professional licenses (PRC — compulsory), specialty certificates (optional), and other related licenses and certifications.
DOC #3BPhotocopies of school diploma/s (BSCE — compulsory) and school certification for units earned from unfinished graduate and post-graduate studies. Transcript of Records (TOR) is no longer needed.
DOC #3CPhotocopies of the employment certificate duly signed by the immediate or functional superior (if employed). For a Managing Owner, the company’s HR Head endorses the letter of recommendation on behalf of the applicant.
DOC #3DPhotocopies of civil engineering seminar and training certificates (PICE, SEAD, and certified CE organizations).

ProcessWith the completed and signed application forms, all supporting documents, and the team’s assessment, the Membership Committee endorses the reviewed application to an Official Session of the SEAD Board for final approval. Once approved, the committee notifies the applicant for an interview and collects the registration and annual fee (see rates below) before the oath of commitment.
Member’s Upgrading — Associate→Regular, Regular→Life, Life→Fellow
1The Membership Committee assesses the candidate’s membership status for possible upgrading (Associate to Regular, Regular to Life, Life to Fellow) using the Board’s recently approved criteria.
2For items needing verification or support, the committee coordinates with the candidate and may request updated and related information.
3After assessment, the committee notifies the candidate via a Membership Upgrade Invitation. The candidate responds by affirming the invitation — a letter of choice or the SEAD Membership Affirmation Letter template (DOC #1) — together with updated DOC #2, #3A, #3B, #3C and #3D (same process as a New Applicant). This also updates the member’s profile for future upgrading review.
4With the signed Membership Affirmation (with colored pictures), the updated Member’s Profile, and the team’s assessment, the committee endorses the application to an Official Meeting Session of the SEAD Board for final approval.
5Once approved, the committee notifies the candidate and collects the financial obligations (see rates below) before the oath of commitment.
Honorary Membership Applicants
DOC #1Submit a Membership Application Letter citing the intention to be part of the SEAD community.
DOC #2Fill out the Membership Profile (with 2 pcs — 2"×2" or passport-size colored ID pictures) indicating personal information, professional identification, educational information, work experiences, and seminar or training attendance.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the evaluation process work?

Your application is evaluated by the Membership Committee member assigned to your region, endorsed to the Committee Chairman for recommendation, and finally approved by the Chapter President on behalf of the Board. You will receive an email at each decision point, and you can follow your progress anytime on the application tracker.

Will I be interviewed?

Applicants may be invited to a short knowledge-verification interview as part of the qualifying process. The committee will contact you through the email or mobile number in your application.

What happens if my documents are incomplete?

The committee will return your application by email listing what needs to be completed — your application is kept on file, and you simply reply with the additional requirements. Nothing is forfeited.

How do I pay the fees?

Via GCash or GoTyme using the official QR codes shown in Step 7 of the online application, where you also attach your proof of payment. Keep your receipt — it forms part of your application documents.
