Design a one-way reinforced concrete slab — minimum thickness, factored moment, required As, bar spacing, and shrinkage steel per ACI 318.

  • Minimum thickness from ACI 318 Table 7.3.1.1 (fy=420 MPa); adjust for other fy by 0.4+fy/700.
  • Wu = 1.2·(SW + SDL) + 1.6·LL. Mu ≈ Wu·L²/8 (simple) or coefficient method.
  • ρmin = max(1.4/fy, 0.0018·420/fy). ρmax = 0.75·ρb  (tension-controlled approach).
  • Spacing limit: s ≤ min(3h, 450 mm); shrinkage steel: As = 0.0018·b·h.
