Method

AISC Manual 4-bolt unstiffened EP — h = d − tf/2 (lever arm). Flange force Tf = Mu/h. Per bolt T_b = Tf/nbolts (no prying assumed; use prying check separately). ϕRn = ϕ·Fnt·Ab, ϕ=0.75. Required end-plate thickness from yield-line: tp ≥ √[(1.11·Mu·γr) / (ϕ·Fy·Yp)] (here approximated with simplified Yp). Flange-to-EP weld: full-penetration or fillet sized for flange yielding.
