Curve Stake-out

Field stake-out for a horizontal circular curve — chord deflection angles from PC, plus N, E coordinates per station, given PC location and back-tangent azimuth.

Inputs

m
m
deg
m (along centerline)
deg, direction PC → PI
Method
  • L = R·Δ (rad). Stations from PC to PT at the user interval, plus PT.
  • For each station, arc length s from PC → angle subtended θ = s/R (rad).
  • Deflection from PC: δ = θ/2.
  • Chord from PC: c = 2R·sin(θ/2).
  • Coordinate: bearing from PC = back-tangent azimuth ± δ (sign by direction); offset c.
